SELECTION AND USE OF COURSEBOOK MATERIALS

It is important to select the appropiate coursebook materials for our classes. A coursebook material usually includes a students´s book which includes tapescript, audio script or transcript. Also there is a workbook; it contains extra exercises. Teacher must select the correct coursebook materials depending on the students' level, age, needs and interest.

What questions should we asked when selecting teaching materials?

• Is the material visual atractive? 
• Is it culturally appropriate?
• Is the material at the right level?
• Does it give learner enough opportunities to use the language?

if the material does aswers all this questions teachers must adapt it to the correct way.

Key Concepts and the Language Teaching Classroom

• The coursebook will normally provide the main content for a lesson
• There may be good reason for leaving out a part of a unit
