CHOSSING ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES
In order to know how teachers must chooose an assessment activity. They have to know what assessment is: Assessment means collecting information about learners´performance progress or attitudes in order to make judgements about their learning.
Types of Assessment
Informal: Monitoring all the time
Formal: Tests
Every assessment has advantages and disadvantages. For this reason teachers must includes a variety of assessmnet activities. For example multiple-choice; true or false and more. This activites are called single focused activities.
Single focused activities.- are very practical to design and easy to grade. This single activities are useful for assessing receptive skills but if teachers want to assess productive skills they must use extended activities.
Entended activities.- are less practical and these kind of activities put learners in a situation where they have to use the language
Key Concepts and the language teaching classroom
- It is important to test the main things we have taught
- We can assess learnersp grammatical and lexical knowledge informally by using games
- Motivation students as much as you can
- It is important to keep records of informal assessment
